About: Dexter   Category: Dog Stories
Dexter was found abandoned in a closet during a police raid, and then he went through three different foster homes before finding his permanent home with us.

Since then we've had a number of trials and tribulations with getting him to get in line with some kind of discipline. He's gone through some pretty extensive training and he's now great on the leash, in the house, with kids, other dogs - you name it. His only remaining problem is that he has SEVERE separation anxiety... which I don't know if he'll ever snap out of.

So that's the "business end" of his adoption. The fun part of the spectrum has been totally that. He goes on vacations with us, is great on walks in the park, retrieves golf balls chipped within the house, attacks the cat with great fervor, and with a "gentle" hand. He loves belly rubs, being spun around on our hardwood floors, and sitting in the front window cill as though he were a cat, and barking at sales people.

I highly recommend the Chicago Bully Breed Rescue group - they were great. And, even though it has been trying at times, we couldn't be happier with Dexter.
