I adopted Martini (originally Marlee) from the Capital Area Humane Society. When she was surrendered for being a "bad dog", she was thin, with bald patches from collar wear, and scars on her legs from possible older dog correction. And she was only about 3 months old! They were unsure of how tall she actually was because she wouldn't stand to her full height. When you tried to touch her she would cower and pee. She was simply pathetic.
My friend who works at the CAHS told me about her because she thought she had a sweet face and seemed a lot like my previous rottie. I agreed to meet her. And well that was the end of that. She now rules my house and is extremely energetic, bouncing off the walls most of the time. Although, she does seem to have a taste for my couches though L. I am hoping she’ll be growing out of that.
